  • Trial social media technologies/services to increase awareness of and participation in agency activities/outputs

Lessons learnt

 

  • Agencies wishing to use social media as part of communications strategies should reserve preferred usernames/identities now, before they are taken by others.
  • Type once, distribute many

    In order to speed up sharing of information via social media channels, utilise tools such as Hootsuite and ping.fm to distribute messages to multiple channels at once.

  • Use platforms that deliver metrics

    Hootsuite provides us metrics on who's clicking on shortened links, regardless of which site the link is accessed from. Integrated into single interface.

  • Learn community conventions to buildNew Nokia PhonesTeleseryeTeleserye followers and advocates.
  • Identify influencers and stakeholders in your target market using these communities, engage/make links with them
    • Potential groups include:
      • prospective and current customers
      • industry association/groups
      • media & newsmakers
      • MP's
